Power Rank Progression

Animal Mutation is the manifestation of traits derived from the animal kingdom.

Unlike Shapeshifting, which allows a mutant to alter their form at will, Animal Mutations are an inherent part of the mutant's biology. These traits may be subtle, such as enhanced senses, or dramatic, such as wings, scales, claws, gills, or other obvious physical adaptations.

Some Animal Mutants resemble humans with a few unusual features.

Others blur the line between person and beast.

As their mutation develops, Animal Mutants become increasingly connected to the instincts, abilities, and strengths of the creatures that inspire their powers.

What begins as heightened senses may eventually evolve into truly legendary capabilities.

Rank 1: Instinct Awakening

Emerging Potential

The mutant begins developing animalistic traits and instincts.

Capabilities:

  • Enhanced senses.

  • Improved reflexes.

  • Heightened awareness.

The mutant's animal traits become more pronounced.

  • Fangs (+2 Melee Damage)

The mutant begins exhibiting the abilities of a true apex predator or master survivor.

  • Enhanced speed or strength.

  • Exceptional environmental adaptation.

Special:

Choose two adaptations:

  • +20 Movement

  • +5 AC

  • Darkvision

  • Tremorsense

  • Scent Tracking

  • +2 Strength

  • +2 Dexterity

Examples:

  • Owl-like night vision.

  • Shark-like sensory awareness.

  • Gorilla-like strength.

  • Panther-like agility.

Rank 4: Primal Mastery

Extraordinary Evolution

The mutant becomes one of the finest examples of their chosen evolutionary path.

Capabilities:

  • Multiple animal adaptations simultaneously.

  • Environmental dominance.

  • Enhanced survivability.

  • Exceptional physical abilities.

Choose four adaptations from previous ranks.

Additionally gain one major adaptation:

A Rank 1 Animal Mutant may possess little more than enhanced senses.

A Rank 3 mutant may rival nature's greatest predators.

A Rank 5 mutant may become a living legend whose abilities surpass those of any creature found in the natural world.
